Within the framework of the project “Support for High Nature Value Territories in the Western Balkans,” funded by Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, RASP has conducted a Rapid Diagnosis of the Pastoralism Situation related to the GI-certified product in the Hasi region.
The study is based on the Rapid Diagnostic Methodology and focuses on:
- Describing High Nature Value territories and their Geographical Indication (GI) product, including the territory description, product characteristics, and the economic aspect of GI;
- The importance of collective GI actions and quality management, covering collective GI management, quality control, and the national GI scheme; and
- An analytical assessment of the GI product’s impact, considering its agro-ecological & socio-economic effects, GI effectiveness, and national & regional support for quality schemes.
At the conclusion of this study, an Action Plan has been developed, prioritizing future intervention needs. This plan can be shared with relevant partners and stakeholders interested in contributing to this effort.
